Asheville – Priscilla Anna Depping Jones Murdock, 87, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at her residence. A native of Holyoke, MA, she resided in Asheville for the past 67 years. She was formerly employed with Clothes Encounters and was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. Priscilla shared her lifelong passion and knowledge in creativity through sewing, needlework, smocking, and home design with her children, grandchildren, and customers. She was a daughter of the late Claude Henry Depping and Isabella Picard Depping and was also preceded in death by her 5 siblings, including her sisters, Barbara Bernier and Claudia Shorey. Surviving are her loving husband whom she married April 28, 1976, Lonas McDonald Murdock, Jr. of the home; sons, Chuck Jones (Diana) of Thurmond and Ron Jones (Christine) of Roswell, GA; daughters, Laura Ann Hines (James “Buddy”) of Asheville and Patri Ann Murdock of Pigeon Forge, TN; grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as “Meme”, Kate Jones, Sarah Jones, Amanda Brebbia, Rebecca Martin, Matthew Jones, Michael Jones and Courtney Hines; 9 great grandchildren; sister, June Byrnes of Holyoke, MA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, March 4, 2022 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Dr. Stan Welch officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Friday at the funeral home. Our special thanks to Four Seasons Hospice and special friends, Kathleen and Jane.
