Phyllis May Holt

Asheville Phyllis May Arrowood Holt, 78, formerly of 20 Cedar Farm Road, passed away Friday, January 30, 2009 at Clare Bridge of Asheville. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she worked for a time as an Administrative Assistant for the Asheville Merchants Association, and was a member of Ecclesia Baptist Church. Mrs. Holt was the daughter of the late Julius Carr and Rena Wilkerson Arrowood, and the wife of the late John Ben Holt. Surviving are her sons: John B. Holt, Jr. and wife Patsy Sherlin-Holt and Mark Holt and wife Rebecca, all of Asheville; daughter, Joy Lynn Buckner and husband Randy of Candler; grandchildren: Kerry Holt Wright and husband Brad, Jennifer Holt Shah and husband Samir, Ryan Dodd, and Mackenzie Buckner; great-grandchildren: Krystin West and Adison Wright; and brother, Julius Carr Arrowood, Jr. and wife Margaret of Asheville. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Monday at Gashes Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
