Peter Shaffer

Asheville Louis Peter Shaffer, 89, of 210 Providence Road, died suddenly Monday, April 14, 2014 at his residence. A native of Ashe County, he had resided in Buncombe County since 1962. He retired as Owner & Operator of Mobile Home Installation & Repairs, was a US Navy WWII veteran and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Shaffer was the son of the late Frederick Robert Shaffer and Diane Margarite Vigneron Shaffer Warren. He was also preceded in death by his son, Carl Fredrick Shaffer. Surviving are his wife whom he married January 12, 1952, Perry Lee Drymon Shaffer of the home; daughter, Cynthia Lee Shaffer of Indianapolis, IN; granddaughter, Michele Kriezel and husband Jeffrey of Asheville; 2 great grandsons; sister, Mary Sylvia Bates of Albany, NY and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at St. Georges Episcopal Church with The Rev. Beth Darling, Th.M. officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following services in the church Fellowship Hall.
