Asheville Peggy Sue Parham Wilson, 83, of Asheville, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Wilson worked at American Enka for several years before retiring as a Teachers Aide at West Buncombe Elementary School with over 20 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Newfound Baptist Church, where she was very active in the Ruth Sunday School Class, as well as many other church activities and events. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, working in her flower garden, and Bible study. Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of the late Lloyd Mitchell and Nora Roberts Parham. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Edward Parham. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Edwin Cole Wilson, of the home; son, Phillip Wilson and wife Angela of Northville, MI; grandchildren: Hamilton Wilson and Meredith Wilson; sister, Carole Bivins and husband Claude of Asheville; nieces: Beth Bivins of Nashville, TN, and Julie Parham Bland of Colorado Springs, CO; aunt, Janet Earwood of Conyers, GA; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Newfound Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bob Moon and Rev. Jeff Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 11:00 AM Tuesday at the church.
