Peggy R. Lee

Woodfin Peggy Rachel Jenkins Lee, 73, of View Street, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. A native of Haywood County, Mrs. Lee had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She was a member of the Salvation Army, where she was an active member and Secretary of the League of Mercy. Mrs. Lee was the daughter of the late John and Lelia Jones Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by her son, Randy Smith; three sisters and one brother. Surviving are her husband, Charles William Bill Lee, whom she married January 29, 1973; daughters: Daisy Smith and husband Michael Watford of Asheville, Faye Weaver and husband Tom Durancik of Weaverville, and Delaina Smith of Woodfin; 13 grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren and special niece, Wilma Devlin of Old Fort. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday at the Salvation Army Chapel, with Lt. Brett Cundiff officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
