Peggy Gillespie Arrington

Asheville - Peggy Gillespie Arrington, 76, of 180 Hudson Street, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center following a period of declining health. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired from Burlington Industries. Peggy was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Leroy Filmore and Mary Black Gillespie. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Arrington; sisters: Marjorie Sprouse, Loraine Scott, and Irene Goodman; and brothers, Edgar and Melvin Gillespie. Surviving are her husband, Henry Edward Arrington, of the home; stepson, David Arrington, of Winston-Salem; granddaughters: Samantha Jenkins of Spartanburg, SC and Amanda Headrick of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Young and Pastor Allen Rash officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
