Pearl Howard

Asheville - Pearl Auldredge Howard, 87, of Asheville, passed away Monday, February 28, 2011. She was born March 7, 1923 in Sandy Mush Township of Buncombe County to the late Julia and Jesse Auldredge. Pearl moved to Asheville during WWII where she met her late husband, George J. Howard, who was serving with the United States Army Air Corps. She was a homemaker and member of Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church. Pearl was predeceased by her sisters, Verde Auldredge, Floy Douglas and brother, Spurgeon Auldredge. She is survived by her daughter, Linda L. Howard of Asheville; her son, Gregory A. Howard and wife Debra and granddaughter, Courtney Steele Howard of DeLand, FL. Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to either NAMI, P.O.
