Pauline Cook

Alexander Pauline Cody Cook, 82, of 1628 Jenkins Valley Road, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Aston Park Health Care Center. A native and resident of Buncombe County for most of her life, she had resided in Madison County as a child and was the daughter of the late Jacob and Bertha Hensley Cody and was also preceded in death by her 3 siblings, including her brother, Edward Cody, formerly of Asheville and grandson-in-law, Jacob Sager, formerly of Charlotte. Mrs. Cook was a graduate of Blantons Business College and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was an Independent Tax Preparer and formerly employed with Donald Freeland, Accountant. Surviving are her husband, Bobby Lee Cook whom she married August 28, 1954, of the home; daughters, Kathy Cook Anders and husband, Keith of Asheville and Melody Cook Queen and husband, Rev. Barry Queen of Lexington; grandchildren, Alicia Anders Sager of Charlotte, Christopher Queen and wife, Maleah of Randleman and Brett Queen of Boone; great-grandchildren, Hunter Motsinger, Ava Sager and Juliana Sager all of Charlotte and Kynsleigh Queen of Randleman. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, February 24, 2018 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following at the funeral home. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff and management of Aston Park Health Care Center for the love and support given to us for the past 5 years.
