Pauline B. "Nanny" Silver

September 12, 1925 — December 9, 2003

Asheville - Pauline Bartlett Nanny Silver, 78, of 40 ODonald Road went to be with her Lord Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at Memorial Mission Hospital following a period of declining health. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she and her husband were owners & operators of the National Frame and Body Shop and a member of Sunnyside Missionary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Rev. Ernest Russell Bartlett and Lilly Fore Bartlett and the wife of Harold Eugene Silver, Sr. who died September 11, 1993. She was also preceded in death by their infant son, Robert Silver. Surviving are her sons, Richard Silver of Asheville, Harold Gene Silver, Jr. and wife Charlene of Marietta, Ga, Gary Silver and wife Debra, Dennis Silver and wife Betsy and Brent Silver all of Asheville; sister, Lois Rich of Fairview; brothers, Jack Bartlett and Rev. Lewis Bartlett both of Asheville, Clarence Bartlett of Swannanoa, Harold Bartlett of Asheville, Charles Bartlett of Weaverville and Dewey Bartlett of Asheville; grandchildren, Chad Silver, Eva Peeler, Addie Ries, Nicholas Silver, Eric Silver, Ashley Barrett, Lucas Silver, Scott Silver, Jordan Silver and Jason Silver; Great Grandchildren, Ethan, Jacob and Cecilee. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Neil Adams, Ronnie Owen and Butch Stillwell officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Gods Plan - Our Mission %Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 200 Mt. Carmel Road, Asheville, NC. 28806. She was greatly loved by all who knew her because she loved and cared for everyone she met. She was our Nanny, our Mother, our Best Friend.
