Weaverville Paul Robinson Duyck, 81, passed away Friday, October 13, 2006 at the VA Medical Center following a period of declining health. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a member of both Flat Creek Baptist Church and Locust Grove Baptist Church. He retired in 1987 from Duyck Construction Company after 35 years of service. Paul was a devout Christian, and loved to read his Bible and witness to anyone that would listen. He was a proud veteran of the US Army. Paul was the son of the late W.O. and Martha Jane Rice Duyck. He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Agnes Revis, Alma Buckner, and Thelma Duyck; and a brother, James Duyck. Surviving are his wife, Georgia Fox Duyck, of the home; sons: Larry Duyck and wife Myrna and Dale J. Duyck, both of Weaverville; grandson, Aaron Duyck and wife Christy of Weaverville; and two brothers: Harold Duyck of Asheville, and Ronnie Duyck of Weaverville. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike King and Rev. Jay Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
