Patty Laws

Candler Patricia Clark Patty Laws, 66, of Candler, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Four Seasons Hospice Elizabeth House. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Laws retired following 30 years of service in the Child Nutrition Department at Enka Middle School. She was also the Site Director of the Buncombe County After School Program at Pisgah Elementary School for 13 years. She was a member of Family Faith Fellowship Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was an active choir member. Mrs. Laws was the daughter of the late James H. and Margaret Brown Clark. She was also preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. Surviving are her husband, Ralph Laws; son, Richard Cook and wife Janice; daughter: Tina Wolff and husband Rick; grandchildren: Megan Sherman, Katherine Cook, Jason Wolff, and Matthew Cook; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Mrs. Laws life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday December 20, 2013 at Family of Faith Fellowship Church, with Pastor James King officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM 9:00 PM Thursday at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Hearts With Hands organization at www.heartswithhands.org.
