Pansy Hopson Brooks

Trenton, Michigan - Pansy Hopson Brooks, 83, formerly of 1117 Brevard Road died Friday, June 4, 2004 at the Oakwood Skilled Nursing Center in Trenton, Michigan following a period of declining health. A native and resident of Buncombe County. She had resided in Michigan for the past 3 years. Mrs. Brooks was formerly employed with Krogers and was a member of Sardis UMC. She was a daughter of the late Charles and Mamie Webb Hopson, the wife of Roy Andrew Brooks, Sr. who died September 23, 1983 and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patsy Brooks; brothers, Mark and Luke Hopson and sister, Evelyn Plemmons. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Bray of Woodhaven, Michigan; son, Roy Andrew Brooks, Jr. of Huntersville; step-son, Charles Sherrill Brooks of Lawrenceville, GA; sisters, Pearl Ward and Grace Gryzb both of Detroit, Michigan; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews including her special nephew, Jack Ingle of San Antonio, TX. Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Bent Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Wilson and Mr. David Jarvis officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
