Oscar Parham

Asheville - Oscar Parham, 69, of 12 Happy Valley Road died Wednesday September 22, 2004 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired in 1997 as owner and operator of Oscar Parham Plumbing Co.. He was the son of the late Alfred Lee and Margaret Rice Parham and was also preceded in death by his brothers, James, William and Carl. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Biggs Parham of the home; daughter, Deborah Parham Crawford and husband Mark of Laurens, SC.; grandchildren, Mark Andy Crawford, Jr., Jennifer Blakley and Timothy Crawford all of Laurens, SC.; sisters, Barbara Hendrix of Asheville, Mary Smith, Linda Metcalf and Diana Honeycutt all of Weaverville and 8 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Don Metcalf officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at the residence.
