Orel Allen

ASHEVILLE - Mary Orel Calhoun Allen, 92, passed away peacefully Thursday February 11, 2010. A native of Graham County, she had lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She was a daughter of the late Virgil and Hattie Hooper Calhoun and the wife of the late Joe I. Allen, Sr. Surviving are her sons, Joe Ira Allen, Jr. of Asheville and Larry Dean Allen and wife Sherry of Kingsport, TN; special niece, Joann Roberts of Shelby; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and sister, Olivia Shope of Asheville.
