Opal Lee Ayers

Asheville - Opal Lee Ayers, 85, of 54 Chestnut Ridge Road died Sunday April 22, 2007 at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center after a brief illness. A native of Greenville, SC, she lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She was a daughter of the late John R. and Otelia Painter Ayers and was also preceded in death by her brother, Herschel Ayers. Surviving are her daughter, Gloria Barber and husband J.T. of Fletcher; grandson, Johnny Barber of Asheville and great grandchildren Jonathan and Jared Barber. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with the Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M.
