Ollie Hudgins Davis

Fairview - Ollie Hudgins Davis, 88, of 1215 Upper Brush Creek Road, went to be with Jesus Sunday, April 20, 2003 at her residence. A native of Henderson County. She had lived most of her life in Buncombe County and was a charter member of Fairview Sharon United Methodist Church. She was a daughter of the late Thomas Carl Huntley, Sr. and Mildred Duckett Huntley and was preceded in death by her first husband, James G. Hudgins and her second husband, Coy Davis and was also preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers. Surviving are her son, Ronald Hudgins and wife, Ilia of Fairview and daughter, Peggie Hudgins of Fairview; grand daughters, Vickie Hudgins of Fairview, Sabrina Hargus-Handy of Asheville and Kimberly Whitted of Fairview; great grandchildren, Sean, Lauren and Jasmine Handy all of Asheville; sister, Ruby Kiser of Forest City; brothers, Homer Huntley and wife, Susie of Asheville and Norman Huntley and wife, Wilma of Fairview; special sisters in law, Ora Hudgins, Mildred Massey and Alberta Long all of Fairview; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Sharon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Glenda Bramlett and Rev. Ed Worley officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at her residence.
