Asheville - Olivia Crisp Lane Blair, 84, of 130 Rumbough Street passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009 at her home. A native of Morganton, N.C. She had resided in Buncombe County since January 1942, was formerly employed with Southern Bell as a telephone operator and also employed with the Grove Park Inn as a switchboard operator and was a former member of West Asheville Baptist Church. Mrs. Blair was a daughter of the late Edward Leith Lane and Flosta Crisp Lane and wife of William Harold Blair who died in 1977. Surviving are her daughters, Marsha Liner & husband, Don of Marietta, GA and Regina DeWeese & husband, Jack of Candler; grandchildren, Chris DeWeese & wife, Amanda of Asheville, Mindy DeWeese of Candler; sisters, Naomi Ross & husband, Vincent of Asheville, Jean Lane of Candler; sister-in-law, Virginia Kirkland of Savannah, GA; brothers, Edward Lane & wife, Cleo of Winston-Salem, Don Lane & wife, Karen of Columbia, SC; and several nieces & nephews. Funeral servcies will be held 1 P.M. Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Buddy Corbin, CarePartners Hospice Chaplain officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jack DeWeese, Chris DeWeese, Don Liner, Mark Cain, Robert Curtis and Vernon Lane.
