Norman Warren Nelon

Asheville - Norman Warren Nelon, 56, died Monday December 10, 2007 at his home after an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He was the son of Eloise B. Nelon of Asheville and the late Jack Warren Nelon. He was also preceded in death by his son, Travis Wayne Nelon. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Ann H. Nelon of the home; sisters, Denise N. Pace and husband Matt of Horse Shoe and Connie N. Wharton and husband Paul of Weaverville; grandson, Patrick Wayne Smith; nephews, Chris and Corey Pace; nieces, Kristin Hensley and husband Steven and Kara and Randi Wharton; great nieces, Courtney and Shelby and great nephew, Zakary and a large extended family and many friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. John Honeycutt officiating and military rites provided by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
