Norma Gale Travaglini

May 11, 1940 — June 23, 2005

Asheville, NC - Norma Gale Stempson Travaglini, 65, of 71 Harnot Circle, died Thursday, June 23, 2005 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She retired as manager of K-Mart on Patton Avenue, was a lifelong member of The Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church, active in volunteering with Asheville Parks & Recreation in youth activities and was a 1958 graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School. Mrs. Travaglini was a daughter of the late Irvin Stempson and Juanita Corn Stempson. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Edward Robbie Travaglini, II; maternal grandparents, Ralph Corn, Sr. and Blanche Myers Corn; paternal grandparents, Carl Stempson and Marie Stempson Shigley; special cousin, Sara Lou Corn Sears. Surviving are her husband, Robert Edward Bob Travaglini, sons, Joey Travaglini and wife, Rebecca and Christopher Michael Travaglini and wife, Toni all of the home; sister, Mrs. Susan Cox of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brothers, Robert Stempson of Athens, Georgia and Irvin Corky Stempson, II of Nashville, Tennessee; six grandchildren; special friend, Gail Cook Lunsford of Alexander. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at The Church of the Redeemer with Father Alex Hanks officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Stevie Cox and David Austin. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
