Asheville - Norma Carolyn Fowler, 79, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Aston Park Health Care Center. A native of Madison County, Ms. Fowler had resided most of her life in Buncombe County. She was a 1955 graduate of Emma High School, where she was Valedictorian and voted "Most Likely to Succeed." She will be remembered as a very Christian woman, as well as a gifted and loving homemaker, mother, and grandmother. Ms. Fowler was the daughter of the late Raymond Carl and Mary Alene Clark Fowler. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Carl Fowler, Jr. Surviving are her children: Susan Brown Buckner, Elizabeth Brown Stebbins and husband Peter, Phillip Edward Brown and wife Kimberly, Michelle Brown Ward and husband Christopher, and Michael James Brown; grandchildren: Patrick Brown (Amber), David Buckner, Allen Buckner (Brittany), Chad Mitchell, Chelsea Stebbins, Megan Gillespie (Brian), Whitney Yarborough (Josh), Matthew Brown (Sarah), Jennifer Ward, Heather Byers (Austin), and Rebecca Ward; great-grandchildren: Logan Ball, Jackson Yarborough, Eliza Yarborough, Emory Gillespie, Lucas Byers, and Caroline Byers; brother, Bruce Fowler; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Mr. Keith Sprinkle officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. The family would like to express a heartfelt "Thank You" to the staff of Aston Park Health Care Center for the love, care and attention that Ms. Fowler received during her stay there.
