Noble "Sie" Standridge

Asheville Noble Silas Sie Standridge, 81, formerly of 895 Riverside Drive, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Pelsor, AR, he had resided in Buncombe County for the past 63 years. Sie was the owner and operator of Standridge and Son Plumbing. His favorite pastimes were camping and playing cards. Sie was the son of the late James Mart and Climmie Savage Standridge, and was the husband of the late Hazel Capps Standridge. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Standridge McCarson; two sisters, and four brothers. Surviving are his son, James E. Standridge and wife Pat of Asheville; daughter, Nancy Rogers of Weaverville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with the Rev. JR Plemmons officiating. Burial will follow in French Broad Cemetery, with family members serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
