Nina Elizabeth Shepherd Foster

May 30, 1926 — March 16, 2002

Candler - Nina Elizabeth Shepherd Foster, 75, of 17 Hominy Hill Dr. died Saturday, March 16, 2002 at Magnolia Health Care Center. A native of Macon County, she had resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She was formerly employed by Terry Enterprises as an inspector and she was a member of Inanda Baptist Church. Mrs. Foster was the daughter of the late Edgar Deck and Eula Elizabeth Lakey Shepherd and was the wife of the late William Lee Foster who died in 1986. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Foster Reynolds who died in 1991. Surviving are her sons, Jim Foster and wife Mary of Rockdale, TX, Ronald Lee Foster and wife Elmeda of Candler, Michael D. Foster of Candler, Robert E. Foster and wife Donna of Swannanoa, and Rick Foster and companion Norma Maynard of Asheville; brothers, Roger Shepherd, Joseph Shepherd, and Earl Shepherd all of Candler; 21 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Charles Shelton, Bobby Smith, and Chris Foster officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Sunday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Ronnie and Elmeda Foster, 29 Hominy Hill Rd., Candler.
