Nettie Clark

Leicester - Nettie Alice Clark, 94, of 441 Newfound Road, passed away Friday, February 24, 2006 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospital Systems following a period of declining health. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Lou Worley Lane, and the widow of Lowell Clark, who passed away in 1997. Mrs. Clark was also preceded in death by sons: Neil, Jack and Joe Clark; infant son, Lane Clark; daughter, Wilma Hickey; and infant daughter, Hilda Clark. Surviving are her sons: Clyde W. Clark of Leicester, John Clark of Clyde, and Gerald Ray Clark of Asheville; her daughter, Mary Lou Hawkins of Leicester; her twin sister, Hettie Clark of Asheville; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Revs. Marvin Mathis and Lee Davis officiating. Burial will be at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of her sister, Hettie Clark, 20 Powell Street, Asheville.
