Nellie Gahagan

Nellie Gahagan, 83, of Arden, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Mission Hospital. She was a native of Hall County, GA and had resided in Buncombe County most of her life. Nellie was the daughter of the late George and Dora Gilleland Cantrell and was also preceded in death by her first husband, Carlos Ford and her second husband, Andrew Gahagan. She was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church and had retired from Sears. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Fisher and husband, Dale of Hudson, NC, son, Carlos Ford, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Hendersonville, NC, grandchildren, Matthew Fisher and wife, Crispin, Jonathan Fisher, Ashley Chastain and husband, Rev. Kyle, Amanda Turner and husband, Jon, two great-grandsons, Donovan and Jayson Turner, sisters, Kathleen Littlejohn and Sue OHanlon, brothers, Robert Lee Cantrell and Hoyt Cantrell, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home at 4:00 PM Saturday, October 1, 2011 with Rev. Dale Fisher and Rev. Kyle Chastain officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
