Nell Ann Wilson Robinson

Asheville Nell Ann Wilson Robinson, 78, of 16 Dove Tree Lane, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a retired School Teacher with the Buncombe County School System following 30 years of service where she taught at West Buncombe Elementary School, teaching both 2nd and 3rd graders; she was also involved in all the musical presentations at the school. She was a lifelong member of Victory Baptist Church where she was known for her musical talents, starting at the age of 9 serving as pianist and organist, served as SS Teacher and Bible School Director and taught piano for several years. She was a member of both the National and NC Education Association, was a 1955 graduate of West Buncombe High School, which was the last graduating class at West Buncombe High School; graduated from Asheville-Biltmore College where she was the May Day Queen and Editor of their annual and was in the first graduating class at UNCA, where she received her Bachelors Degree in Education. Mrs. Robinson was a daughter of the late Bascom Wilson and Harriett Rhodes Wilson and wife of Gerald Harold Robinson who died January 17, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John B. Wilson. Surviving are her daughter, Cathy Ann Robinson of the home; sister, Nancy Wilson Robinson of Asheville; several nieces and nephews including her nieces, Jane Robinson of Asheville and Beth Ann Jaekle and her husband Howard of Greensboro and great nieces, Madeline and Megan Jaekle both of Greensboro. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Chase and Rev. Larry Sprinkle officiating. Burial will follow in Rhodes Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Sunday at the church. Memorials may be made to: Meals Program, c/o Victory Baptist Church, 80 Olivette Road, Asheville, NC 28804.
