Morgan Reid King

Candler Morgan Reid King, 40, of Candler, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Corpus Christi, TX, Mr. King had resided in Buncombe County for the past 13 years. He was a member of Montmorenci United Methodist Church, a US Navy veteran, and very active in the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Morgan was the son of Robert Lee King of Texas and Judy Lynn Van Meter Cassady of Canada. In addition to his parents, surviving are his wife, Sandi Lynn McDowell King, of the home; children: Jody Reid King, Lucais Robert King, and Zachary Lee King, all of the home; sister, Stephanie Cozark of Texas; and grandmothers: Barbara Beacham and Chloe Jeannine Van Meter. Memorial services will be held at 3 PM Thursday at Montmorenci United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Frank Gordon officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at the church. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the King family.
