Monteen Harwood

Asheville Laura Monteen Harwood, 90, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at her residence. A native of Union County, GA, she had lived most of her life in Asheville and was a member of Pine Burr Park Baptist Church. Mrs. Harwood was a daughter of the late Charles and Maggie Neeley Duvall and wife of the late Voyd Harwood. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Minnie Wade and brothers, Floyd, Wayne, Roy and Judd Duvall. Surviving are her children, Keith Harwood and wife Debra, Tina Melton and husband Tom, Myra Metcalf and husband Jerry, Kevin Harwood and wife Brenda and Renee Reno Harwood; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brother, Rev. C.J. Duvall, Jr. and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, April 4, 2012 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Bennie Wade and Rev. Barbara Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Anthony Harwood, Jason Metcalf, Nick Harwood, Josh Harwood, Melissa Harwood, Malcolm Harwood and John Rogers. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
