Mildred "Susie" Wright

Asheville Mildred Susie Sales Wright, 92, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Mrs. Wright was life long resident of Buncombe County and a daughter of the late Rev. Gary Melvin Sales, Sr. and Hester Etta Earwood Sales. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Pat Wright who died April 8, 2003; two sisters, Evelyn Keever, and Irene Johnson; and by a grandson Bart Gardin. Mrs. Wright retired in 1986 from C.P. Clare as a communications instrument supervisor of quality control after 30 years of service. She was a member of Laurel Pines Baptist Church, and also enjoyed her volunteer work with the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department and St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals information desk. She is survived by a son, Ron Wright of Lake Wylie, SC; by a daughter, Patsy Gardin of Asheville; by two sisters: Cricket Merrill of Asheville, and Garylee Goldsmith of Asheville; by a brother, Gary M. Sales. Jr. of Oakley; by five grandsons, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 11 AM. The family will receive friends from 10 till 11 AM at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be in the Emmas Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
