Mildred Bell Case

October 3, 1916 — August 6, 2008

Asheville Mildred Bell Case, 91, of 1043 Alexander Road, went home to be with her friends and loved ones in Heaven Wednesday, August 6, 2008. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Mrs. Case was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Hattie Jones Haney, and the wife of the late William A. Case. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Dwight Jackson, three great-grandchildren: Joe Fender, Thomas Jackson, and Nicole Jackson; sisters: Ruby Sprinkle, Bertie Barbee, and Mary Mitchell; and brothers: Buster, Eldridge, and Grover Haney, Jr. Surviving are her sons: Eddie Case and wife Peggie of Central, SC and Bobby Case and wife Becky of Horse Shoe; daughters: Hilda Chandler and husband Tommy of Leicester and Diane Clark and husband Roger of Asheville; five grandchildren: Mike and Roger Candler, Chad Case, Linda Fender, and Jackie Plemmons; four great-grandchildren: Breanna Powell, Angel Thomas, Crystal McCleldan and Cody Candler; and three great, great-grandchildren: Cassidy Candler, Steven Jackson and Duncan McCleldan. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Phillips, Rev. Louis Gibson, and Rev. Larry Sprinkle officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Friday at the funeral home.
