Mike Grier

Fairview - Karl Michael Mike Grier, 63, of 45 Blue Ridge Development Road passed away Monday, August 9, 2010 at his residence. A native of Jersey City, New Jersey, he had resided in Buncombe County since November 2006. He retired in 2005 from the U.S. Postal Service where he served in Human Resources, was currently employed with Ingles Market, and was a member of the Chapel Door in Fairview. He was a member of the Bayonne Peninsula Masonic Lodge #99 and was a U.S. Navy veteran during the Vietnam War. Surviving are his wife, Mona Grier, whom he married November 16, 1974, of the home; daughter, Michele Grier & partner Larry McDowell; son, Mark Grier & partner Karan Deified; grandson, Benn Asher Grier McDowell and three surviving sisters. Memorial services will be held 6:30 P.M. Wednesday at the Chapel Door with Rev. Robbin Mundy officiating. The family will receive friends following services at the church.
