Michael Edward "Mike" Dockery

Asheville - Michael Mike Edward Dockery, 53, of Asheville died Thursday September 14, 2006 at his residence. A native of Murphy, he had resided in Asheville for the past 10 years. He retired in 1990 from the U.S. Air Force as a MST and was a Vietman War Veteran and a lifetime member of the VFW. He was the owner and operator of Enviro-Tech Petroleum Construction. He was the son of Helen Geneva Carroll Dockery of Murphy and the late Henry Dale Dockery, Surviving in addition to his mother are his fiancee, Debra Ann Young; son, Christopher Michael Dockery of Fairview; daughter, Christa Leigh Dockery of Murphy; granddaughters, Destiny Dockery and Calicity Kelley; sisters, Glenda Picklesimer, Carolyn Cook and Carla Brown all of Murphy and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday at Grape Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Murphy with the Rev. Jerry Young officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home in Asheville and from 2 to 3 P.M. Sunday at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
