Melvina Roper

Asheville Melvina Kansas West Roper, 78, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the CarePartners Hospice Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Roper had worked in the laundry department of the Ramada Inn. She was the daughter of the late John and Florence West, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Harold Roper, Sr.; daughter, Patricia Redmon Roper; grandson, Anthony Roper; two sisters and two brothers. Surviving are her children: Loretta Roper Sales and husband Charlie, Jesse H. Roper, Jr., and Jerry Roper; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday at Skyview Memorial Park, with the Rev. Steve Brockwell officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the Roper family.
