Mckinley Mcdevitt

November 29, 1961 — December 19, 2020

Forest City– McKinley McDevitt, 59, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the Rutherford Regional Hospital. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of Malinda Jo McDevitt Foster and husband Ernest of Leicester, and the late Andrew McDevitt. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lilly Ann. Mr. McDevitt was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Asheville. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife of 29 years, Sarah Joann Ball McDevitt of the home; daughters: Elizabeth Lee Maynor and husband Johnathan of Forest City, Connie Lynn Gault and husband Larry of Fairview, and Christina Spears and husband Michael of Swansea, SC; grandchildren: Hunter, Madalyn, and Ezekiel; sister, Kim Brown and husband Phil of Landrum, SC; brothers: Keith McDevitt and wife Beth of Florence, SC, and Rev. Andy McDevitt and wife Janet of Leicester; and many nieces and nephews that he adored. Funeral services will be held 2PM Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Erwin Hills Baptist Church with the Revs. Andy McDevitt, Powell Young, and Jeff Rhew officiating. Burial will follow at Redmon Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the McDevitt family to assist with funeral expenses: C/O Anders-Rice Funeral Home, 1428 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC 28806.
