May Gilliam

Asheville - Retta May Warren Gilliam, 90, went to be with the Lord on Monday April 27, 2009 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of North Carolina, she was raised in Melba, ID and lived most of her life in Asheville. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to paint and was an accomplished artist. Surviving are her son, James Gilliam and wife Louise of Fairview; daughter, Mary Lynn and husband John of Arden; sisters, Faye Hadley and Peggy Sigmon; granddaughter, Heather Painter and husband Paul; grandsons, Paul Gilliam and wife Briana, Matthew Gilliam and fiancee Sarah Dreske and John Lynn and wife Rhonda and great grandchildren, Bryson, Jacob and Hayden Painter and David Kent. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. H.L. Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M.
