Mary Louise Dobbings

Asheville Mary Louise Dobbings, 85, of 50 Riceville Rd. passed away Friday, July 20, 2007 at the Asheville V.A. Medical Center. A native of Pittsburg, PA and a daughter of the late Louis S. and Mary Shalkoski Cohen, she had resided in Buncombe County since 1973 and was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Mrs. Dobbings was a veteran of WW II serving as a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army Nurses Corp in both the European and Pacific Theatres. Surviving are her children, Michael Dobbings of Asheville, Tim Dobbings and wife, Esther of Arden and Beth Dobbings Winn and husband, Richard of South Haven, MS; grandchildren, Keith, Lisa, B.J., Carla, Kelly and Lane; great grandchildren, Austin, Carson and Kennedy; sister, Margaret E. Jarmolowski of Wisconsin and brother, John Edward Cohen of Florida. Funeral Services will be 10 AM Monday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Chapel with Father Morris Boyd officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Memorial Team. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
