Mary Jane Smith

Asheville - Mary Jane Smith passed away Thursday January 28, 2009 in Pittsboro. She was born June 26, 1928 to Roy G. and Mamie Murray Matteson of Canton. Her husband, George William Smith passed away in 1994. Mrs. Smith is survived by sons; Norman Smith of Marion and Tommy Smith of Arden; daughters; Mary Etta Smith of Clifton, SC and Lynell Dodge of Chapel Hill; brother; Howard Matteson of Candler; 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
