Asheville - Mary Elizabeth Bush Tate, 81, formerly of 103 Newfound Street, Canton died Monday, April 11, 2005 at the Asheville Health Care Center following a period of declining health. A native of Newport, TN, she had resided in Buncombe and Haywood Counties for most of her life. She was a former Private Duty Nurse, daughter of the late George and Mattie Fox Bush and the wife of the late Dan C. Tate. Mrs. Tate was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Griffin, grand daughter, Leslie McFee and her six brothers and sisters. Surviving are her daughters, Donna Griffin Coates and husband, Sam of Reidsville and Sandra Griffin Perrigo of Candler; grandchildren, Kimberly Coates Bird and husband, Mark, Penni Coates, Kevin Coates and wife, Holly, Wes McFee, Brian McFee and wife, Brandy and Candace Feit; six great grandchildren; sister, Cleta Greenwood of Oakley; brother, Herbert Bush of White Marsh, MD and several special nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at West Chapel Cemetery with Artis A. Bush, Jr. officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting Mrs. Tates Family.
