Asheville - Mary Frances Tweed Calloway, 77, died Monday December 24, 2007 at the home of her daughter. A native and life long resident of Buncombe County, she had formerly worked for Swannanoa Laundry for many years. She was a daughter of the late James and Lilly Tweed and the wife of the late Garrett Willie Calloway. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister. Surviving are her daughters; Linda Edmonds and husband Robert of Asheville, Wanda Fulcher and husband Sherwood of Asheville, Brenda Austin and husband David of Nebo and Patricia Pinkerton and husband Ricky of Candler; son, Garrett W. Calloway, Jr. and wife Paula of Clarksville, TN; step sons, Sammy, David, and Michael Lowery; sisters, Betty Bradley, Eula Dietz and Helen Knapp Chandler all of Asheville and Sarah Honeycutt of Candler; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in the Vance Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
