Fletcher Marva Glenn Owenby Bradley, 57, of 39 Ivy Ridge Road, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, May 25, 2008. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she worked as an assembler with Bussmann-Cooper Industries and was a member of Stony Mountain Baptist Church. Marva was a very respected lady. She witnessed to many people about what Jesus had done in her life. She also helped to encourage the sick. Marva fought a long fight. She was a wonderful wife and loved her husband of 23 years. As a mother, she was a woman of God and taught her children and grandchildren how to be respectful. Most of all, she told them who Jesus was. We will miss my wife, our mother, grandmother, sister and best friend. Congratulations, Marva! Gods word says To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We love you, and one day we will meet again. Marva was the daughter of the late Raymond Hampton and Viola Birga Tweed Owenby. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jayson Wayne Mease. Surviving are her husband, Ricky Allan Bradley, of the home; children: Phillip Dale Mease of Russellville, OH, Pamela Lynn Mease of Candler, and Holly Celeste Bradley of Asheville; grandchildren: Savanah Mease, Katelin Pechler, Brandon Jump, Luke Mease, Jaylynn Mease, Devan Mease and Patience Phelan; sisters: Rebecca Creasman of Oteen, Jewel Tester of Boone, NC, Corleus Goforth of Hot Springs, Alma Hopson of Lincolnton, Shirley Fuller of Hot Springs, and Annette Warren of Candler; brothers: Roland Owenby of Fairview, Raymond Owenby of Louisiana, Briscoe Owenby of Fairview, and Danny Owenby of Oteen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
