Martha Jane Vardiman

Asheville Martha Jane Elkins Vardiman, 64, of 20 Udell Ct, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was formerly employed with McDonalds - Biltmore location and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. Mrs. Vardiman was a daughter of the late Carl Cobb Elkins and Norma Louise Redmond Roberts. Surviving are her husband, Lloyd James Vardiman of the home; daughter-in-law, Nita Vardiman; grandson, Rodney Vardiman, Jr., granddaughter, Ashley Vardiman; sisters, Helen Hollifield and Pat Hodges; brothers, Jimmy Elkins and Donald Elkins; sisters-in-law, Margie Wells and Sherrie Wilson and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. John Honeycutt officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and at other times, the family will be at the home of her sister, Pat Hodges, 57 Sleepy Forest Drive, Leicester.
