Martha B. Lumston

Arden Martha Belle Black Lumston, 79, of 808 Park South Blvd, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Park Ridge Health. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired in 1998 from Walmart. Mrs. Lumston was a daughter of the late Hiram Edgar Black and Pandora Burleson Black Smith and was also preceded in death by her brothers, Leon, Burnis and Lawrence Black. Surviving are her daughters, Jennifer Harr of Arden and Catherine Hopper of Kernersville; son, Jim Rice and wife Sherry of Candler; grandchildren, Brandy Rice, Christa Wallen, Linda Rudisill and Tiffany Welborn; great grandchildren, Peyton and Collin Rudisill; step grandchildren, Amy Austin and Leslie Ruff; step great grandchildren, Brice Austin and Tanner Ruff; sister, Virginia McDaris of Fletcher and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 11 AM Saturday, January 26, 2013 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Haynes officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the funeral home.
