Marjorie Lee Ramsey

Marjorie Lee Johnson Ramsey, 87, of 139 Jonestown Road, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Emerald Ridge Rehab & Care Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired in 1985 from Square D Corporation following 24+ years of service, was a member of the Woodfin Senior Club and formerly attended Elk Mountain Baptist Church. Mrs. Ramsey was a daughter of the late Wallace McCune Johnson and Dora Mae Sams Johnson and wife of Howard Edward Ramsey who died January 18, 1974. She was also preceded in death by her half sister, Dorothy Burnette and brother, Bill McGinnis. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Ramsey Arrington (Robert) of Waynesville; son, Jesse Howard Ramsey (Ann) of Leicester; granddaughters, Lisa Ramsey Byington (Jonathan) of Helena, MT and Pamela Randall of Waynesville; great granddaughters, Amanda Luther of Mars Hill and Olivia Duvall of Waynesville; great-great grandsons, Cameron and Adam Duvall both Waynesville; half sister, Ruth Brezina of Virginia Beach, VA and half brothers, Von Black (Jo An) of Asheville and Robert Zentz (Linda) of VA. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Saturday, August 24, 2013 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 till 2:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
