Marjorie Duncan Gibson

Weaverville - Marjorie Louise Humphries Duncan Gibson, 82, of 78 Weaver Blvd. passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Brian Center of Weaverville. A native of Rutherford County. Mrs. Gibson had resided in Taylors, S.C. from 1968 until moving to Buncombe County in November of 2005. She retired from Textile Industries. Mrs. Gibson was a daughter of the late John Clarence Humphries and Elsie Ledford Humphries and former wife of the late William Wayne Duncan, Sr. Surviving are her sons, William Wayne Duncan, Jr. and Benny Duncan both of Asheville; daughters, Linda Buckner of Weaverville, Patricia Hastings of Waynesville and Kathy Melton of Everette, WA; sister, Helen Fuller of Blue Ridge, SC; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 1 PM Monday at Wood Memorial Park in Greer, S.C. with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
