Marie Young

Woodfin - Grace Marie Jarvis Young, 84, of 21 New Street passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was a lover of animals and served as an assistant judge at the Woodfin Precinct. Mrs. Young was a daughter of the late William G. Jarvis and Sue Addie Sisk Jarvis and wife of John Calvin Bo Young who died December 29, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Jarvis and sister, Gladys Jarvis Parham. Surviving are her daughters, Maria Slagle & husband Ron of Woodfin and Tammy Nix of Asheville; sons, Roger Lee Young & wife Laura of Savannah, GA and Ronald Edward Young & wife Tami of Weaverville; grandchildren, Michael Player and wife, Tracey, Candis Randall, Colby Nix, Tyler Nix, Jennifer Alford and husband, Joseph, Ashley Young, Hunter Young & Hayden Young; great grandchildren, Tahlor Player, Tripp Player & Austin Randall; sisters, Nannie B. Jarvis and Betty Jo Harris both of Woodfin; several nieces & nephews. Graveside services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Keith Watkins officiating. The family will receive friends 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
