Marie Harrison

Asheville Lueola Marie Wagoner Harrison, 83, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008. A native of Gold Hill, N.C. she had resided in Asheville since 1947. She was formerly employed as a Relief Manager for Western Union Telegraph Company (W.N.C.) and was a member of West Asheville Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Harrison was the daughter of the late Rufus Alexander Wagoner and Martha Frances Earnhardt Wagoner and wife of James Monroe Harrison, Sr. who died September 17, 1993. Surviving are her sons, James Harrison, Jr. & wife, Vicki of Asheville and Richard L. Harrison & wife, Adrienne Fox of Raleigh; daughter, Jean Harrison Hoover of Madison, TN and step-daughter, Joyce Rutherford & husband, Bill of Springfield VA; former daughter-in-law, Elissa Fine of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, James Lee Harrison, Maren Harrison Magid & husband, David, Mark Rutherford & wife, Denise, Ron Rutherford & wife, Miriam, Carol Carlisle, Eric Rutherford & wife Rochelle, Kirk Rutherford & wife, Marta, Adam Bentley and David Bentley; brother, John Wagoner of Kernersville; 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons. Graveside services will be held 1 P.M. Thursday at Lewis Memorial Park with The Rev. John Odom officiating.
