Marie Greene Arrowood

Candler Martha Marie Greene Arrowood, 90, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 26, 2016 at The Oaks of Sweeten Creek. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired in 1988 from Square-D following over 20 years of service. Mrs. Arrowood was a daughter of the late Herbert Bryan Greene and Lois Robinson Greene and wife of Jerry Arrowood who died April 18, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Harold Greene and sister, Evelyn Lance. Surviving are her daughter, Martha West of Asheville; sons, David Arrowood of Candler and Lane Arrowood (Linda) of Arden; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Willa Mae Arrowood and Vivian Swann both of Asheville; brothers, Hershel Greene (Jo Ann) and Paul Greene (Frances) all of Candler and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Keith Watkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
