Marian Elaine "Grandma" Quade

Candler, NC - Marian Elaine Sprague Quade, 84, of 5 Rhododendron Way died Wednesday August 10, 2005 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Beloit, WI, she had resided in Delavan, WI for most of her life and had resided in Candler since November of 2000. A devoted christian, wife and mother. Her first love was her Lord, husband, family and friends. She was affectionately known to all as Grandma. Mrs. Quade retired in 1985 after 43 years as a registered nurse. She was a member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church in Asheville and Darien United Methodist Church in Darien, WI and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a daughter of the late Maurice Sprague, Sr. and Mildred Marian Magill Sprague and wife of Raymond William Quade who died in 1967. She was also preceded in death by her son, Joe Quade formerly of Whitewater, WI; 3 grandsons, Kevin Williams, David Aranda and Randy Simons; brother, Maurice Bud Sprague. Surviving are her sons, Raymond A. Quade of Elkhorn, WI and Alan Quade & wife, Marcia of Asheville, NC; daughters, Dianne M. Thomas & husband, Michael of Elmwood Park, IL, Jan Wilson & husband, John of Delavan, WI, Sally Heller of Lake Geneva, WI and Cori Quade of Richmond, IL; sister, Dorathy Thompson of Ohio; 16 grandchildren & 19 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Starnes Cove Baptist Church, Asheville, NC, with the Rev. Charlie Sams officiating. The family will receive friends following services at the church.
