Candler Margie Clark Sprinkle Gray, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Aston Park Health Care. A native of Madison County, she resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Parley Lee and Maude Shipley Clark. She was also preceded in death by her husbands: Julian Andrew Sprinkle, and O.C. Gray; sisters: Alene Fowler, and Lucille Israel; and brothers: Albert Clark and Hugh Clark. Margie retired from Square D in 1987 after more than 25 years of service, and was a devoted member for 66 years of New Morgan Hill Baptist Church (Lake Hills) where she taught Sunday School for several years. She was an avid gardener and always enjoyed being outdoors. Surviving are her daughters: Gaye Blankenship (Joe) of Candler, and Joyce Blankenship (Roy) of Candler; sisters: Lois Sprinkle (Charles) of Candler, and Vera Price of Melvindale, MI; grandchildren: Annette Blankenship of Candler, Brent Blankenship (Sarah) of Candler, Jill Blankenship of Charlotte, and Andy Blankenship (Susan) of Candler; great grandchildren: Lauren Jamison (Will) of Adana, Turkey, Hannah Blankenship of Candler, Drew Blankenship of Candler, and Brittany Parker (Brett) of Candler; great great grandchildren: Evan Blankenship of Candler, and Aubrey Jamison of Adana, Turkey; and by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday at Lake Hills Church, 370 Lake Drive, Candler, with Pastor James Walker and Rev. Gerald Sprinkle officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 5:30 PM Sunday at the church, and at other times at the residence of Roy and Joyce Blankenship, 583 Enka Lake Road in Candler where she made her home for the past 18 months. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the Family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Aston Park Health Care for the compassionate and loving care that they provided in Margies final days.
