Margaret Hendley Deweese

Asheville - Margaret Anne Hendley Coates DeWeese, 67, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 at her home. A native of Old Fort, Mrs. DeWeese had resided in Buncombe County for over 40 years. She was the daughter of the late George Mills and Lillie Mae Morgan Hendley, and the wife of James Ray Coates, who passed away in 1986, and Roy Buster DeWeese, who passed away in 2007. She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Louise McEntire, Lorean Propst, and Carolyn Crawford; and brothers: Gene, Ray and Dillion Hendley. Surviving are her children: Trivia Anne Hefner and husband Patrick, Jane Ellen Coates, Susan Alane Coates, and Michael Houston Erwin; grandsons: Laythe Everette Riddle and James Michael Erwin; great-grandson, Maddox Aubrey Riddle; sister, Helen Morrison; brother, Kenneth Hendley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Leak officiating.
