Asheville - Margaret Maggie Elizabeth Williams, 87, of 55 Elizabeth Place died Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Haywood County, she resided in Buncombe County since March 11, 1932. She retired in 1980 from Highland Hospital as a dietitian. She was a member of the Fruit of Labor Worship Center and former member of Asheville Full Gospel Tabernacle and Edgewood Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Clayton Posey and Ollie Mae Morris Clubb and the wife of the late Thomas Jerome Williams who died May 30, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her grandsons, Joey Brackett and Lawrence Williams, Jr., brothers, Thomas Clayton Clubb and James Reynolds Clubb and sister, Minnie Clubb Blankenship. Surviving are her daughters, Katherine Louise Brooks and husband J.D. and Evelyn Jeanette Huffman; sons, Lawrence Vernon Williams and wife Willie and Joseph Howard Williams all of Asheville; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandsons. She was affectionately known by all that knew her as Mama Williams especially her grandchildren who loved and adored her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. William Warren and Darrell McClaren officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M.
